Do you love art? Do you also enjoy children or young adults?

Like peanut butter and jelly, some things just go together.

Teaching art is a field full of passionate people who not only excel in the arts themselves but who wish to share that passion with others. These gifted individuals are not the poor, depressed loners that artists are often portrayed to be, but rather engaged members of their communities who help students understand the history of art in different mediums, as well as guide students to create art of their own.

AE majors will benefit from high school courses in any art field, such as Painting, Drawing and Design, Photography, and Pottery. Also useful are courses in history and literature.

AE majors seek jobs mostly in public and private schools or colleges, but can also find jobs in museums, libraries, non-profit organizations devoted to the arts, even in public administration.
