These gifted individuals are not the poor, depressed loners that artists are often portrayed to be, but rather engaged members of their communities who help students understand the history of art in different mediums, as well as guide students to create art of their own.

    AE majors will benefit from high school courses in any art field, such as Painting, Drawing and Design, Photography, and Pottery. Also useful are courses in history and literature.

    AE majors seek jobs mostly in public and private schools or colleges, but can also find jobs in museums, libraries, non-profit organizations devoted to the arts, even in public administration.
