The New England Institute of Art says

The New England Institute of Art was founded in 1952 as the Norm Prescott School of Broadcasting. It has steadily evolved into its current state, now offering nine bachelor degree programs and three associate degree programs. Located at the intersection of Boston and Brookline, the College is just a stone's throw from everything Boston has to offer, from arts, culture and sports to outstanding internship and job opportunities. Offering year-round education in the creative arts, The New England Institute of Art is accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Our approximately 1,800 students come from around the corner and around the globe. They are all ages, some attending college for the first time, others pursuing new careers and dreams. The one thing they share is a passion for the arts and a desire to test their limits. You'll find them working in the graphic design and animation labs, shooting digital photography, film and video, creating new environments in which to live and work, recording music in our audio studios and learning about the businesses of advertising and fashion. Meet Our Faculty Our faculty bring their real-world expertise to the classrooms each day. They are independent film producers, recording engineers, photographers, videographers, interior designers, graphic and web designers and artists in their own right. They teach because they love what they do and want to share that with the next generation of creative professionals. Meet Our Grads You'll find our alumni everywhere. They'll be in the front of the house mixing a show at a club. They'll be in the back room writing code for websites. They'll be creating the newest graphic designs or working as crew members on films, videos and photo shoots. A program that prepares individuals to communicate dramatic information, ideas, moods, and feelings through the making and producing of films and videos. Includes instruction in theory of film, film technology and equipment operation, film production, film directing, film editing, cinematographic art, film audio, techniques for making specific types of films and/or videos, media technologies, computer image making, multi-media production, and the planning and management of film/video operations.
