The college is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a approved by the State of Illinois Board of Education to grant the baccalaureate and masters degrees. The BSN and MSN programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
In 2008 the college expanded to a second site at 698 Featherstone Drive, Rockford, IL. The main campus is located at 5658 E. State Street, Rockford, IL. Welcome to the Saint Anthony College of Nursing alumni page. Our school, founded in 1915, and our college, founded in 1990, have prepared nurses to serve others with the greatest care and love for over 90 years. We are proud of our many milestones, the first diploma class in 1918, the first BSN class in 1992, and the first MSN class in 2009. I am proud to say I frequently hear members of the community who praise the compassionate, skilled, knowledge- based care provided by a Saint Anthony nurse. The greatest nursing shortage is predicted because of the aging of our nation's citizens accompanied by the aging nursing workforce. The Saint Anthony College of Nursing continues to grow to meet this and other challenges.
I am proud to thank you, our alumni and our community, who continue to provide support needed to sustain our excellence, for sharing your time to encourage other students to attend Saint Anthony and for providing financial contributions to support the scholarship legacy fund. Currently its value is over $1.3 million and represents 46 named scholarships. Without your help many students now and in the future would not be able to afford a nursing education. The College growth has resulted in expansion into a second facility, Guilford Square. This second facility includes a 150-person auditorium and 50-person SMART classroom, both equipped with SMART technology, a new 8-bed skill lab and a high fidelity SIMMAN simulation lab. These new labs allow our students to safely practice critical skills on an interactive lifelike manikin. If you wish to visit and/or support this new facility by making a donation in the name of a friend or family member please contact us.
Thank you for your excellent service at the patient bedside, in the community, in faculty and educational roles, in government positions, in leadership, administrative and many other professional roles. Our graduates, numbering over 2,850, have served in over 1,200 health care agencies, the military, and several foreign countries. We love to hear of the many more contributions made daily by our graduates. So please keep in touch, share your stories with your classmates and us.
God Bless You for everything you do.
