With more than 150 colleges, universities, and technical schools, Minnesota offers a wide variety of educational opportunities. The Gopher State supports a network of public universities and colleges, including the five major campuses of the University of Minnesota, led by flagship University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and the 32 institutions of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system, including Winona State University, Saint Cloud University, and Minnesota State University, Moorhead. Several community colleges, such as Normandale Community College and Century College, are part of the system as well. Many Minnesota colleges, including the liberal arts schools of Carleton College and Macalester College, boast excellent reputations and have earned spots on national rankings and “best colleges” lists.
