    Oregon is home to more than 100 colleges, universities, community colleges, and technical schools. The Beaver State, as it is known for its lush, scenic landscapes and a healthy, outdoor-oriented population, offers a wide range of activities and extra curriculars for students to take advantage of in their free time. The Oregon University System supports seven public universities and one affiliate in the state, led by the flagship institution of the The University of Oregon in Eugene.
