Robin Abedon, Certified Educational Planner, has a rich background in education - as a teacher, college admissions officer, counselor, school trustee and administrator. Since moving to Florida in 1995, Abedon has specialized in educational counseling. Working with students from secondary school through graduate school, she carefully considers what academic and social environments meet each individual's needs. She assists students in establishing realistic aspirations and guides them in accomplishing their goals. To be effective, Abedon spends considerable time visiting schools and researching educational trends. She is an active member of IECA (Independent Educational Consultants Association) and NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling). From 2002-2004, she was chairperson of the College Committee of IECA and presently serves on the IECA Board of Directors. Abedon taught English in the Newton, MA and Barrington, RI school systems. She was also a member of Brown University's admissions staff, where she interviewed and evaluated prospective students. Abedon served as Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Friends Academy in North Dartmouth, MA. She was a member of the Board of Trustees at the Community Preparatory School, an inner-city private school in Providence, RI, devoted to educating students who might not ordinarily have the opportunity to take their place in fine secondary schools and colleges. Throughout her years in education, Abedon has mentored students in the process of academic selection and admissions, counseled them in curricular and co-curricular planning and motivated them to make rewarding choices. Abedon graduated from Tufts University magna cum laude in English and Phi Beta Kappa. Her graduate work was done at Harvard University, where she earned a Master of Arts in the teaching of English and a Master of Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy School of Government.
