Sustainable Comfort: Passive House: Bjørn Kierulf at TEDxKošice

Bj?rn Kierulf is a Norwegian, who grew up in Switzerland, but still as a youngster tried to live in France. He came to Slovakia with his brother when he was 19 years old. He wanted to show him what is it like to live behind the Iron Curtain, how much is the socialism limiting and dare him not to even sympathize with it. He has been there only for three days and already has felt in love with a Slovak and in conclusion stayed there. Bj?rn has studied industrial design at the "V?VU", but later through the wife got into architecture. They haven't liked the Slovak building process, the materials being used and the absence of the passive standard. In 2004 he founded a studio named Createrra with the idea not to only inform people, but also to contribute by actions. He came to us before the revolution in 1989, now wants to begin another revolution, in the field of environmental architecture. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
