How Creative Industries Can Change a City: Adriana Ursache at TEDxIasi

Adriana. After studying Economics & Public Administration, Political Science and then Business Administration (postgraduate), and working as a project manager and European funds consultant for Romanian companies and NGOs, Adriana decided to invest her time and energy in developing the creative economy. Today, Adriana is a founding member and Executive Director of the Creative Industries Association, the result of the British Council Romania's Creative Ia?i project which took place between 2005--2008.In 2011, she worked for a 3-month period in Manchester (UK), one of the greatest cities to experience first-hand how Creative Industries can transform post-industrial places into creative cities. This meant staying away from Hiro, her dog, and Marius, her husband, (but not in that particular order) for a good reason—to work side-by-side, and learn from the best consultants in the field (David Parrish, Andy Lovatt, Andrew Senior, Jo Burns, to name only a few) and to get "front seats" to the most exciting creative development project in the UK, MediaCityUK.Nowadays, back to Ia?i, Adriana is juggling with what she learned in the UK and trying her best with IndustriiCreative.ro, a gateway to implementing relevant projects for creative young entrepreneurs in Romania. And because it' not about the places, but about the people, the Mancunians (people of Manchester) aren't so different from the people of Ia?i. Find out why at TEDx Ia?i 2012.
