Timo is the Chief Research Scientist at the Department of Information and Computer Science at?Aalto University?School of Science. He is the head of the Computational Cognitive Systems research group of the?Adaptive Informatics Research Centre. Is there any way to systematically consider or even measure subjective differences in meaning? How to take into account that language is understood in the context of complex real world, not in an isolated vacuum? After 25 years of work in the areas of natural language processing, neural networks, machine learning, and so on, an idea emerged. The idea was to consider people, language and the world as dimensions of a three-dimensional structure where all dimensions have to be taken into account. Methodologically, this meant formation of so called Subject-Object-Context tensors as the core of a novel Grounded Intersubjective Concept Analysis (GICA) method. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
