A proud user of CouchSurfing and Zipcar, a member of his local co-working space, the Grove, and a tenant of a co-op house, Hans is dedicated to sharing. "I want to have access to products and spaces; I don't need to own them. Meeting my needs through collaboration brings me a sense of social belonging and happiness that I cherish", he says.Hans' work is focused on using the web, specifically GiftFlow.org, to build a community of giving in New Haven. He believes the web has enormous potential to change the way we create and live. True social change comes from the ground up. "If we are going to use the web to improve our lives, most of the work is going to happen offline and face to face", he says.About TEDx: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
