About The Speaker:Sarah Al Jarman is one of the few leading Emirati females in the Media Industry in the UAE. Al Jarman graduated from the American University of Sharjah with a BA in Mass Communications and Advertising. She then joined Dubai Media Incorporated soon after. DMI is a state run media organization.The Dubai Government media group, Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), comprises a number of print, radio and TV channels includes: Dubai TV, Sama Dubai TV, Al Bayan newspaper, Dubai One TV, Dubai Sports TV, Dubai Racing TV, Noor Dubai TV ,Noor Radio, Emarat Al Youm newspaper, Emirates 24|7 , and Masar Printing Press. Al Jarman served as a Programming and Acquisition Manager for the English speaking channel Dubai One and pioneered as the first Emirati female to do so, and was recently appointed as Channel Manager of Dubai One. Al Jarman's role changed and evolved from year to year where she started in the Scheduling department then moved to Dubai One's Foreign Acquisition department. As the channel transitioned she was appointed to manage programming of Dubai One up until her latest appointment where she relaunched the channel. Al Jarman also served as a member of jury in the International I Emmys awards. Al Jarman is also a supporter for children humanitarian causes, she serves as a sponsor and fundraiser for Save the Children nonprofit organization.About TEDx:In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
