Carolyn Sufrin is an obstetrician-gynecologist and a medical anthropologist. She provides Ob/Gyn care to vulnerable populations of women, including women in jail. Her research focuses on the complex intersection of health rights and the politics of reproduction as they play out in institutions of incarceration.About TEDx, x = independently organized event: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
