Yuvi Panda (aka Yuvaraj) currently hacks at the Mobile projects at Wikimedia Foundation (the people who run Wikipedia). He is an open source contributor, and has contributed code to GNOME and Mediawiki. He was an early employee at InterviewStreet, a hotshot YCombinator based Silicon Valley startup where he helped them scale up as they took on customers like Facebook, Amazon, Flipkart and Cleartrip. He's given technical talks at various places, such as IIT Madras, WMF San Francisco Hackathon, GNOME.ASIA, PyCon India and many others. He's also mentored students from IIT Madras, University of Waterloo, University of Toronto and University of British Columbia. He also wrote the code for busroutes.in. He has been writing code since he was 9, and been in love with the internet since discovering it at age 14. He is a hacker at heart, trying to write code no matter the location or situation. He also believes in free speech at all costs, and helped write some of the code for the Wikipedia SOPA blackout protest. He believes that writing code is one of the most purest form of creativity, and the unbirdled joy that can be obtained from programming can not be obtained from anywhere else at all. He also identifies himself as a 'Digital Native', having spent more time on a computer than off it in his life. He is currently a programming nomad, living in a different city every month while writing code and meeting new people. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
