JAMES WOUDHUYSEN is a Professor of Forecasting and Inovation at De Montfort University, Leicester. He helped introduce Britain's first computer-controlled car park in 1968, wrote about chemical weapons for the Economist in 1978 and devised an instruction manual for a word processor in 1983. He was the head of worldwide market intelligence at Philips Consumer Electronics. Co-author of Why is construction so backward?, Energise! A future for energy innovation and Big Potatoes: the London Manifesto for innovationn.
