In 2003 the project became a spin off of the University of Bologna, where Segr? is President (www.lastminutemarket.it). In 2010, under the auspices of the European Parliament, he initiated a campaign promoting 'A Year Against Waste', to sensitize the European public opinion on the environmental, economic and social waste of resources. (www.unannocontrolospreco.org).In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
