Mathew Ho, a Grade 12 student at Agincourt Collegiate Institute in Toronto, Ontario, has a thing for high places. Last summer he climbed to the top of Mt Kilimanjaro and then a few months later, he and his friend Asad Muhammad became "the teens who sent a Canadian LEGO man into space and videotaped it" -- just for fun. Mathew's passions are for hands-on projects that require him to build things from scratch, and the visual arts. He is a competitive hockey and lacrosse player, and says, "I have given up on trying to find my niche, and rather accepted the fact that there are just so many interesting things in this world, it would be futile to focus on just one." This summer he plans on summiting Mt Elbrus, before heading off to university to study commerce.Watch the Lego man in space video: http://www.legomaninspace.com/---In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
