TEDxHickory - John Brzorad - Birds, Energy and Faith
Dr. Brzorad serves as Director at the Reese Institute for the Conservation of National Resources, and holds the position of Associate Professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University. He moved to Hickory in 2006 from Winston Salem where he worked at Forsyth Tech Community College in biotechnology workforce development. In 2008 Dr. Brzorad received the Faculty Scholar Award, as well as the Student Government Award, at Lenoir Rhyne. Dr. Brzorad holds a undergraduate degree in biology from Cornell, a masters degree in biology and PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Rutgers University. He is involved with the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce's Future Economic Council and is working on local agricultural issues.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
