TEDxLansing-John O'malia: Water Supply, at 10,000 feet, in Ecuador's Andes Mountains

John O'malia tells the story about his work with Lansing Rotary and the Michigan Section of American Water Works Association's, Safe Water in Ecuador committee, to provide clean water to people living in Ecuador's Andes Mountains. In addition to providing clean, drinkable water to these communities, O'malia and the other volunteers are helping educate the Ecuadorian people on personal hygiene and hand washing. With over 20% of the Earth's surface fresh water supply in the Great Lakes it is our responsibility to conserve, protect, and advocate safe water for all people across the world. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
