TEDxIrbid - Ziad Al-Ghazawi - Challenging The Water Crisis

Ziad Al-Ghazawi is a professor at Jordan University of Science and Technology and was a visiting professor at the University of California -- Irvine. His area of expertise is water resources and environmental engineering including water scarcity and pollution issues. He has a 25-year long career in civil and environmental engineering. His service and research in water resources engineering have been recognized by the International Water Association (IWA), the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and the Water Authority of Jordan among others. Ziad is a certified trainer in public awareness and Participatory Rapid Appraisal (PRA) by the world university service of Canada and CIDA. He serves as a senior scientific advisor to the International Foundation of Science (IFS) based in Sweden.Ziad was born in Irbid and has a lovely family of 5 children. He adores his kids and family, his students and friends as well as serving the community of the city of Irbid. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized
