Joseph Clair, a lifelong Chicagoan has spent twenty years in the construction, building and energy industry. As Managing Engineer for the Chicago Public Schools, he saw firsthand the impact that communities have on their quality of life. When he became the first Director of Campus Energy and Sustainability at IIT, he saw some great opportunity for the communities to become better stewards of their resources. This stewardship carries with it the added value of providing strength to employment within the community, a minimum of environmental damage, and an increased quality of life.
