The Power of the Ridiculous: Sami Shah at TEDxMargalla

Sami Shah is Pakistan's first English-language Stand-up Comedian. Beginning in 2005, Sami has been performing comedy shows across Pakistan. In 2008 Sami began single-handedly Hosting, Writing, Producing and Directing a news-satire television show, 'News Weakly'. Appearing on Dawn News, it ran for two full seasons, garnering much critical acclaim both locally and internationally. Sami was also a long-time member of Pakistan's first improvisational comedy troupe, 'Black Fish'. He has been invited to perform at the Sydney Comedy Festival but couldn't attend due to a delayed visa and has performed on BBC via Skype. Sami is also a columnist for The Express Tribune and is currently working on his next hour long solo show. About TEDx In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
