The MicroConsignment Model: Greg Van Kirk at TEDxBYU
Greg Van Kirk is an Ashoka Lemelson and Ashoka Globalizer Fellow. He is a 2012 Schwab Social Entrepreneur of the Year for Latin America. Greg is the co-founder of Community Enterprise Solutions (CE Solutions). CE Solutions is the pioneer behind the design, implementation and scaling of the MicroConsignment Model. The MicroConsignment Model creates first-time access to life saving and life changing solutions for developing world communities by empowering first-time women entrepreneurs to overcome uncertainty in order to "bridge the last mile". The MicroConsignment Model fills the vacuum between donations and credit based solutions. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
