TEDxAntarcticPeninsula - Cameron Kerr, 1st Lieutenant, U.S. Army - A Renewed Lease on Life

Cameron Kerr commissioned as a cavalry officer in the U.S. Army in 2009 and deployed a year later to Kandahar, Afghanistan. In February, 2011 he lost his lower left leg to an IED while moving to assist a wounded Afghan soldier in the Arghandab River Valley. Cameron discusses radical life changes and how life can be better if you decide to get back up, keep going, and maximize your potential despite getting knocked down. Cameron shared his ideas at TEDxAntarcticPeninsula, a solar powered event. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
