TedxOhioStateUniversity - Dr. Paul Janssen - Life, Science and Lego

Paul Janssen is an associate professor in the department of Physiology and Cell Biology at The Ohio State University. His research focuses on the mechanism of cardiac and skeletal muscle contraction in health and disease. He is an avid fan of the LEGO brick, and uses LEGO bricks in scale-model building as well as in free-build sculpture. His most well known piece is a 1:120 scale replica of the "horseshoe", the Ohio Stadium, build with nearly 1 million LEGO pieces.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
