TEDxYALE - Wazhma Sadat- Voices from Afghanistan

A sophomore at Yale, Wazhma Sadat has worked on State Department and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) projects to bring peace through development in Afghanistan. Sadat started Kamyab Afghanistan, a for-profit consulting and marketing firm, that aims to empower small and medium enterprises in Afghanistan. Born and raised in Afghanistan, Sadat wants to establish a career in education and economic development in Afghanistan and other underdeveloped countries. She is also working on raising funds for building a primary school in a rural part of the Kabul City.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
