TEDxKL- Dinesh Nair - The Conscience of a Hacker

Dinesh a.k.a. Alphaque has always been interested in technology. Not merely an enthusiast, he finds joy in figuring how it works and tinkering with new-found ways to push its limits. An accidental hacker, Dinesh Nair has been actively involved in open source since 1986.He designed the PicoBSD embedded operating system jointly with Andrej Bialeki; developed the m0n0wall embedded firewall distribution tool and created a smartcard operating software for Malaysia's national identification card and passport.More recently, he has started a local IP PABX company QubeConnect Sdn Bhd and is currently Head of Infotech Industry Cluster at MDeC.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
