TEDxXavierSchool - Mark Ruiz - Small is the new big
Mark Ruiz creates big ideas and movements from collectives of small things; much like how the Philippines is, as an archipelago, and the Internet and social media, powered by anyone and everyone. At TEDxXavierSchool, Mark shares insights based on his experience in moving big things, one tiny retail store at a time. Mark Ruiz is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of MicroVentures Inc., more commonly known as Hapinoy, a social business enterprise focused on microenterprise development through sari-sari stores and microbusinesses. He is also Founding Partner and Vice-Chairman of Rags2Riches, a social business enterprise working with marginalized communities to create designer masterpieces embodying eco-ethical style. Mark also serves as a Director and Chief Marketing Inoventor of Inovent, a research, design, and development firm focused on industrial design, technology, and "inovention." Contributing to the academe, Mark conceptualized and teaches a course on innovation at the Ateneo de Manila University. Mark holds a degree in Management Engineering from the same university. http://www.TEDxXavierSchool.com http://www.facebook.com/TEDxXavierSchool About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
