TEDxAshokaU - Anne Dwane - How Technology Can Humanize the College Admissions Process

Anne is CEO of Zinch, a Chegg company. Chegg, the leading network that saves students time, money and helps them get smarter, is transforming the way millions of students learn by connecting them to the people and tools needed to succeed in high school and college. As a part of this mission, Zinch helps over 3.5 million students have built online profiles to showcase themselves as "more than test scores" to shine in the admissions process, and to be matched with schools and scholarships that might be a good fit. In 1999, Anne co-founded Military.com to connect service members and veterans to benefits, including GI Bill and career networking. Military.com was acquired by Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW) in 2004. Anne is co-author of Getting In: The Zinch Guide to College Admissions & Financial Aid in the Digital Age published by Wiley, 2011. She is a member of the 2010 class of Henry Crown Fellows at the Aspen Institute.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
