TEDxGreenvilleSalon December 2011 - Keith Miller - The value of differences

It wasn't long ago that Dr. Keith Miller took the reigns as President of Greenville Technical College in 2008. Two years later, his leadership skills and innovative thinking have helped him progressively transition Greenville Tech into a premier learning institute. Miller and his leadership team have learned from the down economy and created programs and courses that allow students, both undergraduate and continuing education, to focus on bettering their skills and talents in specific professions in 90 days through the Quick Jobs program. In addition, Miller is focused on catering to high school seniors and motivating them to take college courses in pursuit of higher education. Dr. Miller's most important task is to allow students at Greenville Tech to pursue dreams they never thought possible. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
