Candy Chang is an artist, designer, urban planner, and TED Senior Fellow who makes cities more comfortable for people. Her experience in design, street art, and urban planning informs many of her projects, which use public space to spark dialogue and engage citizens with their cities and with one another. She is a Tulane University Urban Innovation Fellow and co-founder of Civic Center, a civic design studio in New Orleans. In this video, she explains her recent project, I Wish This Was, a project involving stickers that help residents voice what businesses they want in vacant storefronts, and how it grew into an online project, Neighborland that helps people influence the development of their neighborhoods.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
