Jim is the volunteer President of the Friends of the Roc City Skatepark; an organization being formed as a non-profit to pursue the creation, maintenance, and growth of a skatepark system in the City of Rochester; as well as an advocacy group for all progression-oriented sports. Jim's full-time career is with the Rochester City School District as a Grants Specialist. As city residents and parents of four amazing children, Jim and his wife Jennifer - a nurse practitioner in pediatric surgery at Galisano Children's Hospital - are passionate about advocating for youth, and specifically youth in the city. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
