TEDxCAPU-Sandra Todd-From homeless youth to entrepreneurial youth.

Sandra Todd, a Capilano University CBOSS alumni and Owner, Velveteen Vintage. Sandra creates training programs to teach youth to work in the retail industry. Her vintage store is the vehicle she provides to employ and empower youth. Sandra's passion is to see youth have a fair chance to gain skills to enter the workforce. Providing a safe enjoyable environment to teach time management, the handling of cash, customer service, marketing using social media and day-to-day retail skills is Velveteen Vintage's goal. The end goal is to set the youth up with skills for their future that they can share with the community they live in as adults. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
