CO2 sequestration, heating homes, and enabling the creation of bio-crude oilBrian is Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University and a Faculty Fellow with the National Energy Technology Laboratory Institute for Advanced Energy Solutions. He is co-author of The Future of Geothermal Energy: Impact of Enhanced Geothermal Systems on the United States in the 21st Century, which is the seminal report on the future of geothermal energy. He serves on the advisory board of AltaRock Energy, is a member of the Department of Energy Geothermal Strategic Planning and Analysis Group, and is the recipient of the Secretary Honor Achievement Award from the Secretary of the DOE. He has also co-founded the National Geothermal Academy and named Teacher of the Year at the College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Brian received his B.S. from West Virginia University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
