A 10 minute tour of 22 centuries of the Greatest Intellectual Journey: (with sad and funny bumps along the road). Ted is Professor of Physics emeritus in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh. Although retired, he continues the work he loves on gravitational physics and null foliation—which are the patterns light rays form as they fill space-time. He was President and a member of the Governing Board of the International Society on General Relativity and Gravitation, on the Editorial Board for the Journal of Mathematical Physics, and has recently been awarded the very prestigious Einstein Prize from the American Physical Society for a lifetime of seminal work in the field of relativity. Ted has presented innumerable invited lectures and published more than 200 papers. He earned his B.A. from New York University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from Syracuse University.
