Director of Widening Participation, Principal Lecturer in Intercultural Communication and Area Studies, Marie-Annick's main interest is in the notion of identity, its basis and its relationship to culture. She is particularly interested in exploring the ideas of positive diversity and the impact of cultural hegemony and homogeneity.Marie-Annick began to explore these issues mostly through the works of poets form the French and English speaking Caribbean islands, this remains her main research focus.
