TEDxStellenbosch - Cormac Cullinan - The Symbiotic City

Cormac Cullinan is an author, practising environmental attorney and governance expert who has worked on environmental governance issues in more than 20 countries. His groundbreaking book "Wild Law" has played a significant role in informing and inspiring a growing international movement to recognise rights for Nature. At TEDxStellenbosch 2011, he talks about the disconnection between our increasingly urban species and other living systems. He speaks of climate change not as the problem, but as the symptom of this disconnection. He calls for humans to see themselves as Earthlings, a species that lives symbiotically with nature. About TEDx, x = independently organized eventIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
