TEDxUlaanbaatar - Neil Dsouza - Recycling Education Technology

Neil Dsouza is an engineer and education reformer. As the founder of the "Teach A Class" project, he has initiated several educational projects with orphanages around Asia, currently focusing on Mongolia. After leaving his life as an engineer at Cisco in San Francisco, he has followed his passion to support orphanages in accessing education resources. Neil believes that money and infrastructure are not always necessary to solve education problems, but instead, we need to innovate with existing resources to identify worthwhile cost effective solutions. Grounded on this approach, Neil has started creating education hotspots in orphanages in Indonesia and Mongolia. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
