Thriving on EmptyRobbie is the Executive Officer of the Collaborative Leaders Network (CLN), a group created and supported by the Hawai'i-based Omidyar family. CLN's mission is to encourage more productive community dialog and decision-making to create effective, durable outcomes on tough challenges. He is the Executive Vice President of Hawaiian Electric Company, Inc,; Chair of PBS Hawai'i and Enterprise Honolulu; and serves on the Boards of Helping Hands Hawai'i, Hawai'i Institute for Public Affairs, and The Friends of Iolani Palace, among others. Robbie teaches a graduate course on leadership in the Public Administration Program at the University of Hawai'i at M?noa and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from University of Iowa School of Law. He and his wife Cindy (an attorney and mediator) have two daughters, Kristin and Rachel.In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
