TEDxHampshireCollege - Sarah Mullens - The Continuum Hypothesis: A Biography

Sarah Mullens is a 4th year student at Hampshire College working on her Div III (senior thesis) in mathematical logic. In this talk, Sarah discusses how mathematics, which we think must be based in absolute scientific truths, is in fact always in a state of flux. She argues this by tracing the history of the continuum hypothesis and the various mathematicians and philosophers who attempted to prove and disprove its validity.http://www.hampshire.edu/About TEDx, x = independently organized eventIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
