TEDxOmaha - Janel Scott + Aasim Cheena - Breaking Down Barriers Through Hip-Hop Counter Culture

Janel Scott, dance director of The Basement "Hip Hop" Dance Studio, and Aasim Cheena present the history of the B-boys, an urban dance movement that developed alongside hip-hop culture in the 1970s. Omaha's B-boys demonstrate their skills in a display of What's Possible in dance. TEDxOmaha 2011 was generously underwritten by Creighton University College of Business and The Apogee Group. It was produced by REBEL INTERACTIVE. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
