TEDxEuclidAve - Ryan Shelby - Co-Design and Sustainabilty

Ryan Shelby is the co-Founder of Community Assessment of Renewable Energy and Sustainability (CARES). Currently, he is also an Alfred P. Sloan Ph.D. Student Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. His research lies at the intersection engineering, policy, and society. The main outcome is a methodology that allows engineers, members of Native American nations, universities, and other institutions to create a shared understanding of the key issues in environmental conflict resolution associated with the co-design and implementation of housing and renewable energy systems to meet the cultural, economic, and tribal sovereignty needs and goals of Native American nations.About TEDx, x = independently organized eventIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
