Elias Papaioannou is Assistant Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College and Visiting Assistant Professor at the Economics Department of Harvard University. He is also a CEPR (Centre for Economic Policy Research) research affiliate and a Research Associate ate the NBER (National Bureau of Economic Research). He holds a bachelors degree (LL.B.) from the law school of the National and Kappodistrian University of Athens, a Masters in Public Policy and Administration (MPA) with a concentration in international economics from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in economics from the London Business School. Elias consults for the EU Commission, the European Central Bank, and institutional investors on macroeconomic developments in the EU and Greece. He is also chief economist at Analysis, an innovative consulting firm specializing in economic counseling in anti-trust cases and providing quantitative demand analysis for the design of optimal pricing strategies. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
