TEDxStellenbosch - Mark Swilling - The Power of Quiet Encroachment

Professor Mark Swilling is Programme Coordinator: Sustainable Development Planning and Management in the School of Public Leadership, University of Stellenbosch and Academic Director of the Sustainability Institute. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Warwick and specialises in sustainable economic development, ecological design and cities. At TEDxStellenbosch 2011 he talks about how communities in Africa are co-producing their neighbourhoods from the ground up.About TEDx, x = independently organized eventIn the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
