K. Serra is Rachel Sarah Thomas. From her classical beginnings as an Opera major at University of Michigan, Rachel has traveled a long musical journey, discovering electronic music, jazz, psychedelic rock, and more; all of which has led her to her current and most personal project K. Serra, which means "What will be will be." Using middle eastern percussion, a vintage keyboard, effects pedals and a loop station, K. Serra builds lush scenes over which her vocals soar. The music is tribal, romantic, haunting and powerful with song subjects ranging from musings on death, the empowerment of rape victims, and reinterpreting what happens to love when relationships end. You can find K. Serra on www.facebook.com/kserramusic or follow her on twitter @kserramusic. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organised events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organised TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organised.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
