About the Speaker: Gatton Endowed Associate Professor of Management at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Ferrier's research and teaching interests lie mainly in the areas of dynamic competitive interaction, strategic leadership, and the structure of inter-organizational networks. His research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, and Managerial & Decision Economics, among others. He currently serves on the editorial board of Strategic Management Journal and is a co-guest editor of a special issue on Digital Systems and Competition to be published in Information Systems Research. About the Talk: Dr. Ferrier explains how investor perceptions of competitive strategy influences the market valuation of publicly traded internet firms by applying basic musical stimuli to corporate competitive strategy. About TEDx: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
