About the Speaker: Gatton Endowed Associate Professor of Management. Dr. LaBianca's main research stream focuses on understanding interpersonal conflict from a social network perspective. This involves understanding how dyads in conflict within an organization are affected by third parties. Dr. LaBianca was a research fellow at Penn State's Center for Research on Conflict and Negotiation. Dr. LaBianca also does research on groups' social networks, as well as on how individuals' cognitions about organizational change and justice are affected by their network ties. Dr. LaBianca's research has appeared in such outlets as the Academy of Management Journal, the Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, the Journal of World Business, Advances in Strategic Management, and the Journal of MIS. He has served on the editorial boards of the Academy of Management Journal and Organization Science. About the Talk: Dr. LaBianca explains how he used gossip to map the social networks that lie within organizations. About TEDx: In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
