TEDxEmory - Maura Belliveau - A new explanation for the wage gap between men and women

Maura Belliveau is a strategist, researcher, commentator and business school professor with a specific focus on justice and social capital. She has spent much of her academic career studying pay equity, salary fairness, job market diversity, and gender inequality in the American workforce. Featured in industry publications such as The Economist, Fast Company, and Fortune, the University of California at Berkeley graduate also holds considerable experience as a strategist and consultant at firms such as Cambridge Technology Partners, where she served as senior manager. She has contributed to the public sector, most notably to the U.S. Department of Labor's Glass Ceiling Commission on women's career attainment, and has been named one of the most outstanding business school faculty members in America by BusinessWeek. Before teaching at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, Belliveau lectured at Duke University's Fuqua School of Business and Texas A&M University. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
