TEDxAveiro - Susana Sardo - Music in the heart, for a world without musicians

Susana Sardo is a Professor at University de Aveiro and has a PhD in Ethnomusicology from University of Lisbon. Susana Sardo coordinates the pole of the Institute of Ethnomusicology Aveiro - Center for Research in Music and Dance. She is also the author of "Jasmine and Mogarim Wars: Music, Identity and Emotions in Goa." Susana Sardo's research interests include music in Goa and diasporic communities, post-colonialism and music, and music in the Lusophonia space, including Portugal where she has been developing research. She will share with us some of her research studies at TEDxAveiro. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations).
