Chris graduated from Miami University's Farmer School of Business in 2008 where he majored in management and entrepreneurship. Much to his professors' surprise 6 months later he started Sunflower Solutions where he developed the world's first manual solar tracking technologies which provide up to 40% more power versus traditional roof-mounted solar and are used to power critical functions such as clean water projects, education, health care and economic development in developing regions of the world. Working with Shaker Launch House Chris was able to grow Sunflower Solutions to provide solar solutions in countries such as Kenya, Togo, Nigeria, Rwanda, India and in the United States as well. Seizing on the global opportunity for the rise in solar technology Chris has also started 2 joint ventures around the world for deploying his new solar technology. About TEDx, x=independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event.
